🌃 Do All Diesel Cars Have Dpf Problems
Hi. We have an Urban Cruiser, and in a lot of ways its the perfect runaround car! Small, spacious, AWD, frugal, modern, safe, reliable, 5 doors, comfy, good ground clearance (we live in the countryside), lots of ticks! DPF- Argh! Had it cleaned 3 months ago by a DPF specialist at a cost of £300,
In 2008, Ford introduced the 6.4L Power Stroke engine as a much-needed and much-improved replacement for the outgoing 6.0L. One noteworthy feature of 6.4L-equipped trucks was that they came with a diesel particulate filter (DPF)—an emissions control device that Ford had not used on any prior production vehicle.
Diesel particulate filters have a reputation for getting clogged over time, particularly on cars that are used mostly for shorter, lower-speed journeys. With OPFs, this isn’t as much of an issue
Hi Adam if you receive more DPF lights check the hose between the intercooler and throttle body if it is cracked it will cause problems with the DPF , Do not keep having DPF burn offs this can cause Glow Plug failure, you can replace the one that has failed not the 4as the dealer wanted ,l have had these issues with my 2013outback .
Optimism voiced by the Palmerston North-headquartered brand’s technology expert and after-sales manager, Spencer Morris, that problems with the engine’s catalytic reduction system and the diesel particulate filter (DPF) intrinsic to its operation have finally been nailed has come along with frank discussion about how much time and effort
The rest of the car seems pretty robust. I had no problems with my V60 D4 apart from the EGR problem (which was 'fixed' 3 times by the dealer in 3 years). The DPF implementation seems to be robust - my regular driving pattern is not good for DPFs but I never had a problem, warning light etc. Very few DPF problems reported on the Volvo forums.
One of these systems is the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which sits in the exhaust system and filters harmful carbon particulates produced in the combustion cycle, preventing these particles from being released into the atmosphere. First fitted to diesel vehicles from 2007, the DPF has been causing confusion and, in many cases, expensive
Diesel particulate filters cause expensive problems, we are all aware of that, and its well documented throughout the internet with thousands of diesel car owners having expensive and in some cases, ongoing problems with the DPF systems which are fitted to their cars. The problem is so widespread that it has even made an appearance on UK
However, this is not a problem with older diesel cars that did not meet Euro V regulations. Even if you have a modern car, the problem will still remain. Some of the cars without the DPF are: VW 2.7 V6 TDI engine, Skoda 2.0 140BHP engine, Volvo pre-2004/2005, Fiat 115 bhp 1.9 8V Multijet, and Alfa 2.4 JTD.
Answered by CarsGuide. 24 May 2021. David Morley. When Toyota launched the facelifted HiLux late last year, much was made of the fact that consumer concerns had been noted and that the DPF problems experienced by many owners had been addressed. The problem is that until these new versions of the HiLux have done their share of kilometres, we won
DPF-equipped-diesel car EFs are orders of magnitudes below inventory values (0.68–2.64 g kg −1 fuel) 8 and far below those reported for older non-DPF-equipped passenger cars 3, 15, while
However, we have reports of diesel 4WDs that spend a solid day doing low-speed work – manoeuvring trailers for example – and after that they need a DPF clean. Toyotas like the LC200 have a DPF regeneration that can be manually engaged via the button in the top centre. There is a special process to follow, as outlined in the owner’s manual
